Kelmar Waterproofing System

Kelmar Waterproofing Systems

Kelmar Waterproofing System

The Kelmar System is a multi-layered, totally engineered system.  The Kelmar System consists of a waterproofing membrane protected by a durable wear course, offering the ultimate protection against leakage and chloride ion penetration in parking structures, stadiums, plaza decks, balconies, pedestrian bridges and walkways.

Kelmar thin system parking deck protection regularly lasts 2 to 3 times longer than other systems. The durability of the Kelmar wear course is due to the sand epoxy matrix that is formed when the wet epoxy is filled to exhaustion with sand and allowed to cure overnight. Epoxies can hold aggregates tenaciously and do not require a tie coat to hold them together. The end result is a surface that wears like a grinding wheel.

The Kelmar wear course homogeneous with the aggregates filled through the entire thickness, it will wear layer by layer, with the traction remaining intact year after year. This superior slip resistance reduces the risk and liability exposure of skidding and slips to property and people. Kelmar systems maintain slip resistance for the entire life of the wear course as required by the OSHA (Occupational Safety Health Association). It meets the ADAAG (Americans with Disabilities Act Accessibility Guidelines).

Most competitive systems consist of aggregates sprinkled lightly and back rolled. They act like a heterogeneous system with the aggregates remaining at the top. Consequently, they wear like sand paper which results in lose of traction.

Knowledgeable building Owners and Specifiers demand Kelmar to protect their investment and reduce their long term risk exposure.
